Every spring for several years, teams from within the Hallmark community, including residents, employees and their families, have traveled to Guatemala to give of their time and love. Team members engage with an orphanage and daycare for children and the elderly, an AIDS Hospice, a school for street children, and a senior’s home. We may build homes, help with medical needs, or help construct a community centre in a rural village.
Many who are unable to travel with the teams contribute by giving homemade gifts such as wooden toys or knitted blankets. Some years, our local community has also pitched in, donating blankets and other sewn items. What a delight to share the care and love that has gone into these gifts with the people we meet in Guatemala!
